Meet Emma Hutchison, your State DECA President. Emma is a junior and a two-year DECA member and chapter officer. She is currently serving as Putnam City North's Vice President of Fundraising. Last year, she competed at state and received fold for her entry in the Chapter Awards Program. At ICDC, she attended the Leadership Development Academy where she honed her leadership skills that will come in handy as a member of the Oklahoma State Action Team. Emma is involved in various other organizations at school including student council, national honor society, key club, and panther pals (a mentorship program). She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies. Her future plans are to attend college and major in marketing or political science.
Meet the Region 1 Vice President, Darien Martin from Mustang High School. Darien is the reporter/historian at Mustang High School and has been in DECA for two semesters. She is the co-chair of the Mustang DECA Fashion Show and participated in the DECA Book Sale. Darien is also involved in Relay for Life and is active in her community.
Meet Misael Martinez, the Region 2 Vice President from Francis Tuttle Career Tech Center. Misael attends Western Heights High School and also Francis Tuttle Technology Center. He is currently serving as the Francis Tuttle DECA Chapter Vice President. Misael is also involved in the NJROTC, Key Club, and the Western Heights Soccer Team.
Meet Katie Adams, the Region 3 Vice President from Edmond Santa Fe High School. Katie is a junior at Edmond Santa Fe High School where she has been involved with DECA for the past two years. She serves as the Vice President of Community Service, and is a member of the Executive Council. Besides DECA, Katie is involved with National Honor Society, Pink Ribbon Club, Drama Club, Spanish Club, and is the wrestling team manager. her activities keep her busy but she also likes to volunteer at the YMCA Camp Classen in Davis, OK and at the OKC Ronald McDonald House Charities. After completing high school, Katie plans to attend the University of Oklahoma or the University of Texas at Houston and major in marketing with a minor in journalism. Meet Kanda Jackson, the Region 4 Vice President. Kanda is a senior at Durant High School and currently serves as president of the Durant DECA Chapter. She will attend SOSU in Durant after graduation. She holds leadership positions in the local yearbook and also the Durant FFA Chapter. Kanda is passionately active in many community service projects. She is a dedicated member of the Choctaw Nation and was the former Junior Miss Choctaw Nation.
Meet Lauren Long, the Region 5 Vice President, from Putnam City North High School. Lauren is a junior and currently serves as her chapter's Vice President of Event Coordination. Other than DECA, Lauren is involved in National Honor Society, Panther Pals, Key Club, Junior Class Secretary, Big Brother Big Sister, and as a Student Council Representative. Lauren enjoys golfing and earning her pilot's license in her free time. Her plans after high school are to attend the University of Oklahoma and pursue a degree in business and then continue on to a law degree after her bachelor's degree.
Meet the Region 6 Vice President, Gonzalo Morillas, from Edmond Santa Fe High School. Gonzalo is currently a sophomore and serves his local chapter as Vice President of Fundraising. He is the Sophomore Class President and is also active in FCA, Spanish Honor Society, Debate Team, and the National Honor Society. Gonzalo also volunteers at the Oklahoma Food Bank and worked as a missionary volunteer in Mexico. He believes that success is a journey and not a destination. He is a beacon that strives to light the way for others and believes in servant leadership and helping others.
