I believe in the future which I am planning for myself in the field of Marketing and Management and in the opportunities which my vocation offers.

I believe in fulfilling the highest measure of service to my vocation, my fellow beings, my country, and my God, that by so doing, I will be rewarded with personal satisfaction and material wealth.

I believe in the democratic philosophies of private enterprise and competition, and in the freedoms of this nation, that these philosophies allow for the fullest development of my individual abilities.

I believe that by doing my best to live according to these high principles, I will be of greater service both to myself, and to mankind.


DECA Diamond

The official DECA emblem is a diamond shaped design.  Each point of the diamond signifies a working part of the organization.  The four points of the DECA diamond are:  Vocational (Career) Understanding, Community Service, Social Intelligence, and Leadership Development.

Vocational (Career) Understanding - Members will acquire firsthand knowledge and experience of marketing, management, merchandising, and entrepreneurship, and the opportunities available in their chosen career.  DECA helps students for their chosen career.  DECA helps prepare students for their career success.

Civic Consciousness - Through chapter, state, regional, and national activities, members recognize their obligations to the community and undertake activities to benefit others.

Social Intelligence - Through social events held throughout the year, members are given opportunities to develop poise and professionalism and gain an understanding of the social graces necessary in the professional business world.

Leadership Development - Through officer positions, committee assignments, and other opportunities, members gain as understanding of leadership as well as fellowship.  DECA is designed to provide students opportunities to develop and apply their leadership skills that are needed for successful careers in supervisory and management roles.

DECA Colors

The official DECA colors are blue and gold.

Blue symbolizes sincerity and genuineness.

Gold symbolizes the crowning success which comes to those who live wisely.
