Oklahoma DECA is preparing for another exciting year with new opportunities for student members. We are a strong association interested in developing leaders, exploring career opportunities in the field of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship, as well as creating strong relationships with other members, businesses, and community leaders across the state. Oklahoma DECA also values the commitment of becoming a contributing member of our local communities. I am very fortunate to have a part in providing leadership and guidance to this great organization. It takes a strong team of advisors and members to continue building an organization that will provide members with the skills and opportunities leading to a successful life. Of course we cannot forget about civic projects which connect us with the important things in life. Many times people look the other way and assume that someone else will solve the world's problems. Leaders do not look the other way. Get involved at your local level to find out how you can contribute to the welfare of your school, community, or state. It may not be easy, but it is worth doing. We all come across challenges everyday but our outlook determines the outcome.
